ISO 4406 18/16/13
8× CleanerStandard allows up to 2,500 particles/mL and 200 ppm water. Captain Fuel Right programs have delivered fuel 8× cleaner than the ISO 4406 standard in the field -- reducing particulate counts from 2,500 to as low as 320 particles/mL and water content as low as 95 ppm. Some programs have achieved better than ISO 4406 13/10/8.
ASTM D2274 Long-Term Storage Stability
0.5 mg / 100 mLFR 30K measured 0.5 mg/100 mL total insolubles after a rigorous 40-hour ASTM D2274 accelerated-aging test designed to simulate long-term fuel storage stability. That result is one-third of the 1.5 mg/100 mL ASTM D2274 limit -- 67% lower. The closest NAVSEA comparator is the F-76 requirement of 1.0 mg/100 mL (MIL-DTL-16884P), against which 0.5 mg/100 mL is 50% lower. Fuel Right achieves this by dissolving, removing, and breaking up larger particles so they pass through filtration and burn more completely -- reducing the total insoluble burden measured by D2274 and thereby improving the cleanliness of the fuel by ISO 4406 standards. Your stored fuel -- whether it sits in a tank, feeds an engine, stands by in storage, or fires a furnace -- stays cleaner, lasts longer, faces lower microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) risk, and requires less maintenance.
Mechanism of Action
Filming Amine Technology. Dissolves suspended sludge and drives water to the bottom of the tank for removal. Scrubs away degraded-fuel deposits and sludge adhered to tank walls. Deposits a microscopic corrosion-inhibiting coating that protects the entire fuel system. Breaks down suspended particles so they burn more completely -- operators see a noticeable reduction in particulate at the exhaust. Acts as an excellent surfactant and enhances the functionality of lubricity additives.

Does it work in cold weather?
Yes. Fuel Right 15K includes a fuel-line anti-freeze component (dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether per SDS) and is suitable for diesel, home heating oils, and unleaded fuels in cold climates. The dedicated Cold Flow & Winter Series (Winter 2K / 2.8K / 4K / Cold Flow / Thaw / Winter MAX) is built for low-temperature fuel integrity in cold-storage operations, on the water, and in backup power systems where freezing failure is not an option.
Is it safe for modern diesel emissions systems?
Cleaner fuel means fewer particles. The few that remain stay in solution and pass through to combustion -- boosting gas mileage, reducing exhaust, and cutting regen cycles. The result: longer run times, faster re-gen times, fewer bakes, cleaner filters, spotless tanks, cleaner injectors, ideal spray patterns, and clean rails. Fuel Right is complementary to aftertreatment; it does not replace SCR, DPF, or DEF systems -- it feeds them cleaner fuel so they work the way they were designed to.
